Competition Rules
1. A.C.F. National Rules.
These Rules are set by the Australian Calisthenic Federation Inc (ACF) Rules Committee, and are reviewed regularly. The Committee comprises delegates from all States and Territories who represent coaches, adjudicators and competition administrators. CVI is represented by Gwenda Lucas and Bev Gaudion.
These Rules are the standard for all competitions and items throughout Australia, but under the ACF Flexible Rules Policy (Appendix 1), States/Territories are able to vary four of the Rules to encourage and assist participation, and to meet theatre/venue requirements. (Refer to “ Flexible ACF Rules for Victoria”.)
2. Special Victorian Competition Rules.
• Teams
• Solos/Duos
• Country Competitions
These rules are set by CVI Competition Committee (as distinct from the CVI State Championships Committee), and are reviewed annually and amended when necessary to meet changing circumstances. They set out the established criteria for cubs and participants entering competitions.
All competitions in Victoria – metropolitan and country – but excluding Royal South Street Ballarat, are registered with CVI and must agree to abide by the “Guidelines for Team/Solo Competitions” otherwise they will be de-registered.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM CVI
CVI Committee of Management has approved an amendment to the FLEXIBLE A.C.F. RULES FOR VICTORIA – 2011 which will remove an anomaly that allowed a 15 year
old pupil – under extenuating circumstances – to compete as a Senior at CVI State Championships (our primary competition), plus all other Victorian competitions, but
not at Royal South Street Ballarat.
Rule 1.4 AGES – will now read –
• A pupil who is 15 years of age at 31st. December, will be permitted to appear in the Senior section provided:
a) written permission is obtained from CVI Competition Committee.
b) The pupil does not appear in a similar item in the Intermediate section.
c) There is no provision for such pupil to work in the Intermediate section.
d) That such upgrading does not jeopardise the Intermediate section of the Club.
It must be emphasized that written permission from CVI Competition Committee is mandatory, and will only be given to applicants who meet the criteria above.
The rule will be reviewed if age groups change in the future.
The Flexible A.C.F. Rules for Victoria – 2011, along with Special Victoria Rules for Teams, Solos and Country Competitions are all available in the Club Secretaries Admin
Manual, and available to download from both the CVI and VCCA websites.
As with all requests for exemptions, letters should be addressed to the Director of Competitions.
