Strength & Conditioning Coordinator Wanted We are looking at a National Compulsory Strength & Conditioning course for all coaches. It would be a wonderful challenge for an interested person to take on the role of coordinator in Victoria. The role would involve organising presenters and venues for this course. If interested please contact Renae in the VCCA office. |

Forum News - November 6th 2011 Reduced Time Limits: ACF gave permission to CVI to trial reduced time limits in 2011 with a view to shortening the time taken at competitions.A report was required by ACF at their October meeting. You, our coaches, were surveyed for your feedback along with adjudicators and competitions convenors.Your response was about 50% positive and 50% negative. The key point was that, reduced time at competitions was negligible and so we will revert to the original times for 2012. Keep in mind that you can still create shorter items if that works best for you. You now have a 60 second leeway again. Amendments to ACF Rules: The amended rules will come into effect in January 2012.The final copy has not yet been received. As soon as they are available, VCCA will be notified and we will send the information to everyone. The new rules will also be published on the ACF website. Senior Graceful Solos: A think tank was called a couple of months ago followed by a request for feed back from coaches. The end result is: In 2012 the CVI Senior Graceful Solo will run as 3 separate titles –Novice, Open Reserve and Open. The Eliminations for the Royal South Street Graceful Solo will be run as a separate section – it will be open to all Open Reserve and Open competitors plus the winners of all Novice sections including CVI.Full details will be on the CVI website shortly. Weather in Ballarat : Congratulations to all coaches who were adversely affected by the freak weather in Ballarat last weekend. Everyone was thoroughly professional, co-operative and flexible and so the competition was able to resume with minimal time loss, even if under difficult conditions. Committee was delighted to receive a letter from Shirley Pettitt on behalf of ASCA Victoria congratulating all coaches who were involved, and particularly to those who had to consider teams who had travelled from inter-state to compete. ASCA also ask that you thank your teams of Prop personnel who assisted backstage. Adjudicators were also very moved and delighted by the standing ovation the competitors and audience gave to the RSSS team showing just how much their effort meant to everyone. |
