ACFCC Mentor Program.

This Mentoring Programme has been established to assist the development of LEVEL ONE Trainees by pairing them off with a more skilled experienced coach.


AIMS AND GOALS

  • Provide the opportunity for all LEVEL ONE trainees to develop to their maximum potential as future coaches.
  • Develop LEVEL ONE trainees’ communication skills with particular reference to children, parents and committees.
  • Give direction to future LEVEL ONE trainees
  • Increase and broaden LEVEL ONE trainees’ understanding of the role of the trainee and coach and the structure of calisthenics.
  • Increase knowledge of different coaching styles through visits to a class other than your own. Organised with mentor
  • Develop LEVEL ONE trainees’ technical skills
  • Retain committed and expert coaches

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MENTOR   

  • Participate on a voluntary basis
  • Be caring and positive
  • Give constructive feedback
  • Commit to a negotiated agreement
  • Act as a resource advisor
  • Participate in  network group meetings
  • Provide the TRAINEES senior coach with a copy ofthe negotiated agreement
  • Facilitie the trainee learning
  • Participate in the evaluation and tracking process 

LEVEL ONE TRAINEE 

  • Be in final year of level One training
  • Commit to a negotiated agreement with mentor
  • Utilise available resources
  • Identify development needs
  • Gain support from senior coach
  • Participate in orientation sessions, matching process, network group meetings (where possible), evaluation and tracking process.

SENIOR COACH
