Courses which comply with these requirements include those titled “Senior First Aid”, “Level 2” or “Workplace Level 2” first aid, and “HLTFA301B”. NOTE Nurses Board of Australia If you are a registered member of the Nurses Board of Australia, this qualification is valid in lieu of completing an approved first aid course. Your annual renewal certificate MUST be forwarded to the Registrar to avoid deregistration. First Aid Requirements If a Category 2, 1 or R coach is likely to have their first aid qualification expire prior to completing an acceptable course, the committee may be able to offer an extension in extenuating circumstances. The coach must apply in writing for a first aid extension and supply documentation to support the request prior to the expiry of their qualification. Please note that you are unable to coach unsupervised while your first aid certificate is expired as your Professional Indemnity Insurance is not valid. If your request is successful, you will not be deregistered for failing to maintain a current first aid certificate. The request will be taken to the next available committee meeting for discussion and you will be advised by mail or email whether your request has been approved. |
