Entering a Team Into Competitions

Check CVI website for competitions and entry dates.

Contact the convenor and ask to be sent a copy of the entry form or download it form the Internet.

Business size self-stamped envelope usually accompanies the entry form together with a cheque made out to the Competition.

No more than 5 competitions can be entered in one competition season including Country Competitions and Royal South Street, Ballarat.

Each successful entry will be sent a competition schedule.  Some may be available on the CVI website.

If you have any special requests i.e. Wedding/Debut, put them on the entry forms.  They may or may not be accommodated- depending on the time frames and requests.


When at competitions, teams are not permitted to enter the theatre/hall until 45 minutes prior to the commencement of the competition.


 

All coaches should carry their ASC Accreditation cards for free entry into the competitions. Free entry IS ONLY FOR THEIR OWN SECTION. Coaches’ passes may be purchased for $6 from the Supervisor’s office for other sections, excluding Senior Championship (CVI).

 

Free admission will be given to the Registered Level One/Two Coach and 2 Registered Assistants for the section of competitions when their team is competing. Any additional Registered Assistants may pay a child’s admission price for that section.

 

Only 1 coach, 2 assistants and 2 helpers or 4 assistants/helpers permitted side stage with any item excluding Calisthenic Revue.

Coaches are to book their teams in at the booking in table or office IMMEDIATELY on arrival. Make sure you know your titles for fancy items!

If you require lighting, present the completed lighting sheet- including entry numbers and class name- when booking in (CVI) or inform supervisor that you require lighting and you will be directed to how and who will assist you with this.Some venues may charge for the use of the lighting.

If using curtains during the items, present the completed curtain cue sheet- including entry numbers and class name- when booking in (CVI), or inform supervisor that you require curtains and you will be directed to how and who will assist you with this.

Make sure all competitors and parents understand the venue rules and competition etiquette and abide by them.Coaches are responsible for the behaviour of their members.

After The Competition

Make sure the dressing room is vacated and left clean within 15 minutes of the completion of the competition.  Failure to do so could result in your class receiving a penalty fine.

Check all costumes are collected. Usually a mother is delegated to take charge of this and cleaning/leaving room tidy.

COACH ONLY can collect the critiques from booking in office (CVI) or booking table, and these should not be read out aloud in dressing rooms.  Leave this to the next class.

  

Coach should not leave venue until assured that parents have safely collected  all team members or driven home by the designated parent.
