COACHING EFFECTIVENESS AUDIT PROCESS

Is an Australian Calisthenic Federation Coaching Committee (ACFCC) initiative and is compulsory from 2007 for new Level 1 coaches within the first 4 years of becoming a qualified Level 1 coach.

You will gain 2 points for this and it can be completed every 2 years if required.

This is for personal development and self-reflection and is recommended for all coaches.

The Process for the Audit is:

  • Contact the VCCA office and pay $5.00 to purchase the Coaching Effectiveness Audit process form.
  • Appoint a mentor
  • You must take a video of yourself coaching a complete class.
  • Assess the whole class and fill out the coaching effectiveness audit form.
  • Review of Coach’s class by mentor and constructive feedback given.
  • Return a copy of the completed form with your Update book to the VCCA office for point allocation

This is a fantastic tool to be used by coaches and supervising coaches and/or mentors.  It is intended for the supervising coach or mentor to fill in and provide feedback on.  There are certain areas that can be commented on including, positive aspects of class, communication with team and parents and areas where improvement can be made.  The mentor/supervising coach is to write comments at the end of the process under the further comment section reflecting on the coaches performance.

This process also works as a great tool as self analysis for the coach to reflect on their coaching styles.  They can reflect on several areas including, use of participant’s names in class, positive and constructive comments to all teams’ members, effectiveness of class plan etc.

The Coaching Effectiveness Audit process whilst being a useful tool for the coach, we ask that you submit them to the office to ensure that the process has been completed properly and that we have sighted it as it now forms part of new coach’s reaccreditation.

The Audit can also be completed for all coaches as a self analysis tool to address your coaching skills.
